ABOUT
ABOUT BENJAMIN DREXLER:
After 12 years working in information technology I'm pursing a career in something more meaningful and fulfilling. Graphic design has been a hobby as long back as I can remember, especially after I began working at Kinkos' in high school. I fell in love with everything printed. From a page of text to large format posters with all the craft of finishing and binding that came with it.
Today that continues. I'm attending the Art Institute of Indianapolis to obtain my Bachelors degree in Digital Photography. On the side I'm pursing alternative processes for printing digital negatives, and turning them into one of a kind analog prints using a hybrid of modern day and techniques dating back to 1842.
I love most any photography, but night photography and near black and white are especially appealing to me. I also enjoy product photography, skyscapes and art in general.
In the realm of graphic design few things are as enjoyable as concept exploration. It must be the IT side of me, but mind mapping out concepts and relations until the perfect design in distiled is a huge rush. Finding the concise iconography to convey your message is incredibly satisfying.
What's next? I can't wait to find out.
PURPOSE
My ultimate goal is art photography and printing. Utilizing alternative processes to create modern, old world imagery, and old world, modern imagery and designs.
In a life long pursuit of unknown possibilities, one is always arriving at a new destination.
